My Faith

My Story

I put this page together to share my faith with whoever happens by. I do not wish to offend anyone or force my understanding of God on them. But I would like to share my understanding of the love God has shown in His creation.

My understanding of God is that He loves every single human on the planet. It is His most sincere desire that each of us accept the gift he offered us on the cross. He chose to pay the price each of us needs to pay to save us from having to pay it. Yes, He died for me (and you).

With that said, you should have already figured out that I am a Christian. The core of my belief is that I have failed to meet God’s ultimate desire for my life. If you are honest you will agree that your too have fallen short of God’s desire. But the bible offers hope. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I wish to share the message of God’s gift of grace with everyone. He has paid the price for our mistakes, not because He had to, but because He loves us. That great love for His creation compelled him to spare us the judgment we deserve by accepting it himself. How do I respond to this wonderful gift? I try to follow the teaching of Jesus, especially those found in Matthew 22:37-40 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Now I don’t want to give anyone the idea that I spend my life on my knees. It is true that I pray frequently throughout the day, but a person at my side would not know it. I try to keep God’s desire in sight at all time. This is no easy task is a very busy office, home with children, and every other place I find myself. However, when I succeed, I find everything works so much better. My life is very much a work in progress, but I have as much time as God chooses to give me to complete that work.

I’m sure you noticed that the other links I have on my home page indicate my interest in astronomy, photography, and technology.  I have always been interested in science from particle physics to cosmology. Some people find a conflict between the bible and modern science. I fail to see the disconnect. The bible states that God created the universe, I believe science is discovering the way God accomplished this creation. I find that observing the wonders of the universe helps me get closer to Him. I can see with my own eyes the beautiful wonders of the universe. I’ve seen a quasar that is about 2.6 billion light years away with my own telescope and a few even farther away thanks to friends with bigger telescopes. It was inspiring to see light that took almost 3 billion years to get here. I spent quite a few moments in silent reflecting while gazing at that rather nondescript point of light in my eyepiece.  That is simply amazing! God is simply amazing!

I also find that music speaks to me. As a youth I was obsessed with music. I am now beginning to discover the wonderful assortment of contemporary Christian music. Having been a teenager in the 70’s and 80’s I prefer a rock music. It is wonderful to hear some of the selections available. Some of my favorite bands publish their material on YouTube.  I encourage you to check out: Plumb, The Letter Black, Sanctus Real, The Newsboys, Building 429, Hawk Nelson, John Elefante, Skillet and Toby Mac.

I hope you have a chance to check out the links on this page. I find the Internet is a place where God is at work, unfortunately, Satan is out there too.

If you find yourself in north eastern Pennsylvania, check out Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
