# Astro Helper

Astro Helper is a utility rooted in the classic mechanics of amateur astronomy, drawing inspiration from the days of manual setting circles, carpenter-level elevation gauges, and calculated coordinate tracking. Designed to assist observers working with non-motorized mounts or custom Dobsonian setups, it translates equatorial coordinates into real-time altitude and azimuth angles based on your precise geographic location and local sidereal time.

By providing fast, dependable mathematical conversions right from your field device, Astro Helper honors the traditional methods of deep-sky navigation while offering the speed and accuracy of a Windows application.

**Note** AstroHelper was built for Windows XP and while it still runs, it feels dated. I will be refreshing this application into a multi-platform tool shortly with the full NGC & IC catalog as well as severl thousand quasars. **Stay Tuned.**
